This afternoon hike began at village Garung. Spend one overnight by camp in comfortable tent before heading for peak of volcano Sumbing on the next day.In early cool morning, continue hiking up to make summit right on sunrise moment. After sight seeing on summit zone and explore old sandy crater plus active crater of the volcano, we then descend back head for Garung for transferring return to airport of Yogyakarta for your next destination.
ITINERARY:
DAY ONE:YOGYAKARTA-GARUNG-CAMPSITE SUMBING
Pick you up at airport of Yogyakarta in the morning (07:00-09:00 ), transfer to Garung. Upon arrival, introduce you to local team, make arrival report,and final preparation.1 hour after lunch, then commence the hike slowly through well constructed trail along the village and local tobacco farmland ecosystem. After 2 hours of ascending, we then tackling steeper upward trail of Genus hill's flank up campsite for overnight by tent.Dinner and free tiem at camp site.Actual hike 4 hours.Transfer 3 - 4 hours.(L,D)DAY TWO:SUMMIT-CRATER ZONE-GARUNG-YOGYAKARTA
In early morning, weak you up for warm tea/cereal and bread before proceeding our hike heads for summit of Sumbing through more gravel and stony section of the path. Make summit in early morning for catching sun slowly lights the summits zone of Sumbing.After maximum half hour of sight seeing on summit,we then walk down heads for impressive minor crater spewing sulfuric smoke from volcanic cracks.After exploring crater zone, then proceed hike up through different trail heading for second summit.Take break on second summit plus take close up view of volcano Sundoro as well as below mountainous landscape.Have breakfast on second summit, then proceed the descent heads for campsite and basecamp.Stop over at camp site for tea stop and have lunch at Basecamp before it's time for transferring you return to Yogyakarta for your next destination.Actual hike 7 hours.Transfer 3 - 4 hours.
