TREKKING MERAPI; Old Crater Trekking

A volcano trekking trip, specially created for those who want to experience volcanic environment of volcano Merapi. The trip offers you 1 night camp by tent. You can expect to experience impressive sunset on the first day, and sunrise on second day. The hike lead you to view point (+- 2680 m ASL) of Pasar Bubrah, an old crater of volcano Merapi under steep rocky peak of Merapi, so also can expect to observe it's majesty cone towering above camp site of Pasar Bubrah. This trekking trip is best to be done when ever the authority not allow to hike until new crater ridge (+- 2905 m ASL) for safety reason. The hike it's self is physically easy, so it suit for most people, even new trekkers or hikers. This trip covers a visit and relaxing walk to waterfall K.Kayang between Merapi-Merbabu volcanoes en route to Yogyakarta / Borobudur area.





BRIEF ITINERARY

DAY 01 / Leave Yogyakarta in the morning for trekking basecamp (+-1680 m asl ), hike to view point (+- 2680 m ASL) of Pasar Bubrah. Overnight by tent. Actual drive approx 2,5 hours. Normal actual hike approx 4 hours.(L,D)

DAY 02 / Wake up early morning and wait for sunrise, then sight seeing. Hike down back to Merapi trekking basecamp to transfer back to Yogyakarta. En route to Yogyakarta, stopover for visiting waterfall K.Kayang. Actual drive approx 2,5 hours. Normal actual hike plus actual walk around area of waterfall approx 3,5 hours.(B,L)
