There were many clients hiking up volcanoes in Central Java for period of 2010 up 2011, but there was only one client completely hike up all interested volcanoes of Central Java, included volcanoes Merbabu, Lawu,Sumbing and Sundoro, and the last one Slamet. This post is specially created as appreciation of afford of Mr.Manuel Penalva from Spain,in completing the hike of all volcano of Central Java.Perhaps, Manuel Penalva is the first Spanish who climbed all peaks of interested volcano of Central Java, Java Island, Indonesia.Below some brief review of the trekking trips taking place at non frequent visited volcanoes of Central Java.Popular volcano Merapi trek excluded in review.

VOLCANO MERBABU 2 Days / 1 Night
The trip was began from airport by private Ac car heads for Climbing Basecamp of Merababu at ;last village Kedakan. Had lunch at Basecamp of Mas Marmin at Kedakan.Approx 1 hour after lunch,We then begin the hike heads for camp site for overnight.Dinner at campsite, and overnight by tent.Proceed the hike in the early morning passed through Jembatan Setan and Watu Tulis up summit Kenteng Songo.We make summit very early in the morning. Descent back via the same hiking trails.Lunch at Basecamp, served by family of Basecamp Owner.After lunch, then transfer back to airport of Jogjakarta.
VOLCANO LAWU 2 Days/ 1 Night
Pick up and drop off points were at airport of Yogyakarta. Lunch at Edelwis Basecamp Cemoro Sewu, owned by Mas Agus.The hike was began via Cemoro Sewu up Camp site through well stony constructed hiking trail.The wind was so strong, and rain was heavy at night.In early fogy morning, weak up and had a glass of warm tea and
bread. Then begin the hike up summit. Summit was very fogy,wet due to rain, white anywhere, no sunshine, no body upon our arrival. After half our on summit, we then decide to descend back at camp site and had breakfast before proceeding down heads for Cemoro Sewu. Lunch at Cemoro Sewu, served by family of our local partner, then transfer to airport Yogyakarta. en route, stop over 1 hour for visiting Suku temple.
VOLCANO SLAMET: 2 Days / 1 Night
Pick up and drop off points Hotel Ibis Yogyakarta. This trip included long drive Yogyakarta-Bambangan with one hour stop at local restaurant. We depart in early morning 05:00, and reach Bambangan in Afternoon. There was rain,upon our arrival, so that the hike was deley for about 1 hour. There were 4 other group hiking at time, included group of kid of 6 age accompanied by his parent. Our group was the last one at Bambangan, while other groups already were doing the hike.
We begin the hike from entrance gate, pass through local plantation, pine forest, rain tropical mountain forest and sub alpin tropical vegetation. Our camp for overnight and dinner was halt 5. Proceed the hike very early in the morning to make summit in the morning, catch sunrise and avoid high sulfur accumulation on summit zone. We begin the hike after had a glass of warm tea and bread. Took break at halt 7 and 9. Halt 9 is the border of sub alpin vegetation and volcanic zone. We catch sunrise along the way up summit.
After sight seeing and took pic of sunrise on summit, we then walk down to crater rim of Slamet. 5 minutes sight seeing on crater's rim, then hike back to summit and have light snack on summit, then proceed down to camp site.On the way down to camp site, we encounter other group were going up.After breakfast at camp site, then proceed descent back to Bambangan via the same hiking trail. The trail was little big
moody due to rain water. Lunch at Bambangan at home of our local patner.Then transfer back to Hotel Ibis Yoagyakarta. Arrive Hotel Ibis at night 18:15.
VOLCANOES SUMBING-SUNDORO: 3 Days / 2 Nights
We plan to begin the hike at Sundoro on first day, then Sumbing on the next days, but our local contact and local officer request us to not do the trek of Sundoro on that day due to safety reason.We then decide to do trek volcano Sumbing, then back to Sundoro on next days.We hike up Sumbing via "Jalur Lama" of Garung. The driver strive to take us up border of local plantation and forest but the access is too steep, so that the car could no move up, just till mid way, and we walk along the rest of the way up the border where we commence our real hike up to camp site at Pestan zone for over night by tent, and proceed the trek on next day early morning.
We make the summit in early morning, then walk down head for crater zone of Sumbing to have closer look of the crater zone.It's take 1 hour to explore this crater zone, the up to crater peak for longer break and sight seeing of surrounding view as well as "closed up" view of Sundoro.Descend via the same trail, had breakfast at camp site, and lunch at Basecamp served by the Basecamp owner family. After lunch, under assistancies of members of local organization and basecamp owner, we then proceed transfer head for Sundoro basecamp by local transport.
At Sundoro, we meet the basecamp owner as well as one of members of local organization who will accompany our Sundoro trek. We were transported by local transport up border of local plantation and forest, then do the hike up halt III where we set our tent for overnight. In early morning, proceed the hike up summit. Make summit on right time of sunrise momentum. After explore the rim crater of volcano Sundoro, we then descend back head fro border of local plantation and pine forest where our car is waiting to transfer us back to Yogyakarta. We had our breakfast at Campsite,Lunch at Basecamp. After "pamitan" (thankful), we then return to Yogyakarta and transfer the client to airport of Yogyakarta.
