This 2days/1night Merapi trekking lead you hike up new crater ridge +- 2905 m ASL. Hiking through available path of local farmland, tropical mountain forest, more rocky path of sub alpine hihgland and volcanic environment ecosystem of Merapi. The hike provides chance to experiences those different zone of Merapi ecosystem transition, also expected to catch moment of sunset on first day and sunrise on second day, as well as see new crater of Merapi.

This trekking trip is graded physically moderate effort, so it suit for most health people enjoy hiking on volcano and fit to do actual hike 4 - 5 hours per day.

MERAPI TREKKING TRIP BRIEF ITINERARY

DAY 1 / leave Yogyakarta city in the morning for trekking basecamp (-+1680 m ASL) of Merapi at northern flank where you'll be guided head for view point (-+ 2680 m ASL) of Pasar Bubrah, then down lower some meters to camp site for overnight. Actual hike approx 4 hours.

DAY 2 / Proceed hike to ridge of new crater (+-2905 m ASL) of Merapi. After sight seeing, then hike down back to Merapi base +- 1770 m ASL, proceed down lower to trekking basecamp for transferring back to Yogyakarta. En route stopover for visiting waterfall. Actual hike up - down Merapi plus walk waterfall area approx 4 hours.
